On the last day of Christmas Jesus came to me, and whispered in my ears;
"That's not what I meant."
Something to think about eh? What would Christmas be like if we rejected consumerism and the rush to buy, buy and buy some more? What would happen if we gave of ourselves, with gifts of time and companionship, with something repaired, cleaned up and recycled, or with something handmade? What would happen if instead of running around the shops looking for the 'perfect' gift, we spent that time reflecting on the Perfect Gift we've already received; the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
